A Tradition of Craftsmanship
House of Troy was founded in Montreal, Canada in 1947. It started as a small custom lamp manufacturing company selling to gift and department stores in the area. In 1960 the company began to specialize in picture lights. Around 1962 the business moved to North Troy, Vermont, hence the name House of Troy.
Hand Craftsmanship
The hand-craftsmanship involved in building House of Troy picture lights has changed very little the past seventy years. Each Vermont made picture lights is hand rolled, soldered, buffed and assembled by our employees. In addition, each employee checks the quality to ensure that only the finest lights are shipped to our valued customers throughout the world.
Designed in Vermont
Our products are designed in Vermont to assure lasting performance. White the majority of our products are manufactured in Vermont, we also source parts and products worldwide in order to provide our customers with the best possible value.
In 1986 the manufacturing operation was moved to our present location in Hyde Park, Vermont. We continue to manufacture and distribute fine task lighting. Over the years, House of Troy has developed solid state LED options for every category of task lamps.
In 2013, House of Troy purchased Scatchard Stoneware and opened our pottery in Hyde Park, Vermont. Using a high fire reduction process and proprietary glazes, we now offer decorative lamps with beautiful deep finishes that will stand the test of time.
